Description: Established in 1916 to provide treatment to the thousands of soldiers returning from WW1, Broughton House has evolved into a dedicated charity and nursing home for ex-servicemen and women, and their spouse or civil partner, who are in need of care and support. As veterans have different needs dependent on their age and the degree of care & support that they require, Broughton House provides a variety of different services to offer the best assistance possible. These include dietary requirements, physiotherapy, chiropody, specialist gym equipment (suitable for the elderly), person-centred medical care and counselling & welfare support. Broughton House offers four types of care, consisting of; nursing care, residential care, residential dementia care and respite care. In the nursing care facility a qualified nurse, as well as other trained care staff, is on duty 24 hours a day to ensure the safety of the veterans and each resident has their own individualised care plan. All bedrooms within the nursing and residential care units are equipped with an ensuite shower room and mechanical bed for support.
